A SEA SERVING VETERAN ORGANIZATION
The Navy Club of the United States is a national congressional chartered non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the men and women of the United States Navy, Coast Guard, and Seaborn Services.
The Navy Club was established on June 18th, 1938 in Quincy Illinois, and has over 16,000 members and more than 70 local chapters across the country. The Navy Club of the United States provides support and recognition for the sacrifices made by military personnel and their families and fosters camaraderie among its members. The club also hosts a variety of events throughout the year and works to ensure that the needs of military personnel and their families are met.
USS CHICAGO, SHIP ’69’
The Navy Club of Chicago Ship 69 was established around 1938 but was dry-docked (de-commissioned) 60 years later. Chicago was home to six Navy Club Ships (Chapters) and had one of the largest memberships but by the early 2000s, all six ships were dry-docked.
In early 2023, a few Navy Veterans came together and decided to refloat USS Chicago, which has been dry-docked for over 20 years.
JOIN THE ’69’ CLUB
The Navy Club is a membership organization with thousands of members nationwide. Membership is open to United States Navy, United States Coast Guard, and sea-serving veterans, active duty, and reservists. All shipmates are encouraged to join and continue honoring the great traditions of the United States Navy.
We host quarterly social events to build camaraderie, honor traditions, and celebrate what it means to have served in the “World’s Greatest Navy.”
USS Chicago also hosts the Navy Birthday celebration in Chicago during the month of October.
